Labor Day is Monday, September 5, 2022. Always celebrated on the first Monday in September, Labor Day is set aside to pay tribute to the hard working men and women in the United States. It is also considered the end of the summer season, with Memorial Day marking the beginning.

Labor Day is a National Holiday which was first celebrated in New York City on September 5, 1882. The first Labor Day parade was organized by trade unions. The Central Labor Union held its second Labor Day holiday just a year later, on September 5, 1883.

Cumberland Farms locations can be found on the East Coast in Connecticut, Florida, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Rhode Island, and Vermont.

Firehouse has offered double points to their Rewards members on any purchases made Saturday-Labor Day.

Fogo De Charo

Joe’s Crab Shack

Going to McDonalds? Don’t forget, you can get free fries every Friday! And, check the app for extra freebies and deals. I was surprised to see how many points I had, so I can “buy” free food for quite a while!

Steak n Shake has offered free fries when you go to their drive-thru. Of course, you can always sign up for their rewards app and get a free Steak N Shake Milkshake!

Rubio’s Coastal Grill

Rubio’s has offered free kids meal with the purchase of any adult entrée every Wednesday in September. You can also sign up for their Beach Club reward program and get a free taco or your choice of many menu items. Rubios has locations in AZ, CA, and NV.

Wendy’s Hamburgers

Wendys has given away a free Baconator when you make a purchase with Wendy’s mobile app.

Free Admission on Labor Day 2022

Art Institute of Chicago

ArtIC is offering free admission on Labor Day to many groups, as part of the Blue Star Museums government families of museums.

Blue Star Museums

More than 2,000 museums across the United States are partnered with the National Endowment of the Arts and Blue Star Families to provide free admission to military families.

Check the map for 2022 participating Blue Star Museums, which include children’s museums, art museums, history and science museums, zoos, nature centers, and more. The map will be updated throughout the summer to reflect new museums joining the program. Before planning your visit, please check the museum’s website for current hours and operating status.
