BAM Summer Reading Reward: Free WOF Cap
If your kids would love a free gift just for reading this summer, then don’t miss this! Books a Million summer reading program is giving away free Wings of Fire caps this year! So, head on over to BAM and check out your summer reading rewards.
In the past, they’ve given away free pencil holders and other fun swag. It’s a great way to keep your kids reading all summer, and teach them to earn their free stuff!
My daughter developed her love of reading at a very early age. I read to her before she was born! Then, we read together daily from the time she was a baby, well into grade school. She loved to play-read and make up stories even before she could read the words herself. She sounded just like a teacher. We have one beloved video where she was doing “rhyme time”, a feature in Scholastics Kids magazine. She said, “Does whale rhyme with flower? Yes, it does.” She repeated this with several words that did not rhyme, but her confidence could make even the most avid poet question their life choices. Her intonation was so much like her preschool teacher, it was absolutely adorable. And, while one could argue that whale does not in fact rhyme with dolphin, it was the eagerness to mimic learning that has taken her through elementary, high school, and now into college with wonderful grades and a love of learning.
If your kids are easily bored, then give them an incentive to keep reading this summer!
