Lowe’s Kids Workshops, formerly Build and Grow

Lowe’s Home Improvement stores are a DIY big box store, similar to Home Depot. Each month, they offer a free model kit for kids to build. Children are given a free apron, merit badge, and more. Formerly known as Lowe’s Build and Grow Workshops, the DIY Kids workshop now has a program your child can advance at each craft event and get even more free stuff!

What are Lowe’s Workshops?

Lowe’s offers several types of DIY workshops for everyone, of all ages. Learn anything from home improvement, decorating, and kids can build wooden toy models which are free!

Lowe’s in-store classes will educate, empower and inspire customers of all ages to do it right for less. Sign up for your hands-on lesson today. DIY Workshops allow customers to build skills for their next home improvement project, DIY Women’s Workshops integrate small-group instruction to support do-it-yourself projects and DIY Kids’ Workshops inspire the next generation of builders.

What’s Free at Lowe’s DIY Kids Workshops?

Lowe’s DIY Kids’ Workshops are free, monthly, in-store events designed to inspire the next generation of builders while growing their confidence and DIY skillset. These specially designed workshops are for kids, ages 4-11, and their parents to participate in together. However, all ages are welcome with the supervision of a parent and/or guardian.

Each workshop is an opportunity for kids to develop their DIY building skills under the expertise of Lowe’s DIY Kids’ Workshop Captains, represented by a Lowe’s store associate equipped to facilitate each workshop. From wooden bird feeders to fire trucks, each month highlights a different project complete with a free apron, project merit patch, goggles, and all the materials needed.

How can you sign up for Lowe’s DIY Workshops?

Parent and/or guardians can register by visiting www.lowes.com/DIY. Registration is free and online registration for each workshop opens approximately one month prior to the in-store workshop date, while supplies last. All workshop participants must register.

If you registered your child online, your kit will be reserved from 9:00am-11:00am on the day of the workshop. At 11:00am, your kit may be given to walk-up customers in the store. We cannot guarantee your child’s spot after 11:00am.
