Send a Letter to Anyone, Free from Shortwave Snail Mail
Head on over and write a personal letter to anyone, and Shortwave Snail Mail will print it, slap a stamp on it, and send it to them for free! If you want to send a holiday card to a friend or loved one and are okay with it showing up at some undefined point in the future then you are in the right place. In other words, they’re not guaranteeing a delivery time, so don’t use them to file your taxes (LOL!)
Snail Mail is a free service from a team that wants to make it easier to communicate. We spend our time making email faster and more responsive, but sometimes nothing beats the feeling of receiving a good old-fashioned snail mail. That’s why we’re offering a service to send a physical letter — for free! — by responding to a digital email.
Their terms:
Hopefully it goes without saying, but this is the internet so we’re going to say it:
- We will not mail anything that resembles hate mail, offensive content, or harassment. We will use our best judgement here, but please don’t put us in a tough situation. If you want to send your fiftieth unrequited love letter to someone, maybe this isn’t the time.
- We reserve the right to not mail a letter for any reason. We want to help people connect with each other, but it’s a free service on the internet so you kinda get what you pay for.
- We don’t guarantee that a message will arrive by a given date. If you send us a holiday template we’ll do our best to get it out before the holiday season, but our domain name is literally a snail so, yeah.
- We won’t keep your personal mailing data around for any longer than we need to deliver the letter. We won’t email you without your consent after you respond to the initial confirmation email. In short, we aren’t doing this to collect a massive database of emails or addresses. We want to let people know about Shortwave and have fun doing it, but that doesn’t mean we need to keep your personal information on file.
